History & Experience

Kenny Lewis started studying piano at age 5 and later became church pianist at age 9. Ever since he stumbled upon the show “The Joy of Music” with Diane Bish he was hooked on the pipe organ forever and began studying organ at age 15.

At 13 years old, after attending a concert at the historic “Alabama Theatre”, Kenny joined the organ work crew, which meets every Saturday to work on “The Mighty Wurlitzer”, this started his fascination in organ repair and building. Kenny continued to work on “The Mighty Wurlitzer”, occasionally helping local organ builders with installations and removals, until age 21 when he joined the “Milnar Organ Company”. As a shop worker at Milnar he studied leather work, tuning, and wood finishing.

Kenny later moved on to “Parkey Organ Builders” located in Norcross, GA where he stayed for almost 3 years. During the time at “Parkey Organ Builders” Kenny learned tonal finishing, wood working, tuning, removal, building, and design.

Having finished a degree in Organ Performance from Samford University, Kenny continues to work for Phil Parkey & Michael Morris on a contract basis while further developing his own company.
